System Architecture and Software on the STFC iDataPlex

The IBM iDataPlex Cluster sid.dl.ac.uk comprises a double width compute rack containing 40x dx360 M3 server nodes. Each node contains 2x six core 2.67Ghz Intel Westmere processors with 24GB of memory and 250GB local SATA disk. Two of the nodes have 2x nVidia Tesla M2050 GPU cards attached. There is an additional high memory node (for Daresbury users), IBM x3850 server with 4x Intel Nehalem six core 1.86GHz processors (24 cores in total), 256GB memory and 600GB local scratch disk.

Node interconnect is provided by QLogic Infiniband QDR network switch for parallel jobs.
