Registration and Help for New Users
If you are working on a NW-GRID project and need access to the Daresbury system you need to apply via the registration page at: NW-GRID User Registration.
If you want to apply as a local non NW-GRID user you should send a request to: nw-grid-daresbury@request.dl.ac.uk .
You should include the following information:
Your name and contact details.
The name of your Daresbury sponsor, if you are not CSE department staff.
Your STFC UNIX id or federal id.
Your STFC UNIX 5 digit uid.
Your STFC UNIX 5 digit gid.
If you have access to a CSE department computer this information can be listed with the - id - command.
The DN from your e-Science Grid certificate. Only needed if you wish to use grid access.
If you do not have a Grid Certificate
One can be obtained by following the instructions at the Grid Support Centre. Your local RA contact is Rob Allan in room A47.
If you need a STFC Unix username and uid
To obtain one, please print, complete and sign this form and return it to your STFC contact.
If you are not a member of the CSE department, user access is only available with permission from Rob Allan, Head of the HPC and Grid Technology Group at Daresbury.
Users need to obtain permission from Rob Allan and then send a request to nw-grid-daresbury@request.dl.ac.uk as above.
