Collaborative Computing Projects E-Science Environment (CCP-ESE)
Project Overview
Computational grids will present many challenges to the applied e-scientist. Amongst these will be the proliferations of 'Grid Services' that will become available through the recently announced Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA). One trail facing the e-scientist, that we will explore in this project, will be how to discover and optimise their use of these Grid Services to meet their own individual requirements.
Objectives
- the development of user tools and problem solving environments that will interoperate with any OGSA compatible Grid Services;
- the specification and implementation of Grid Services to support logging and workflow optimisation;
- development of XML-based technology for data representation enabling data sets to be transferred between applications and interpreted by users.
Testbed 1 runs
Both CCP1 and CCP9 have completed runs during the Testbed 1 phase. See separate Web pages.
